भावप्रकाशनिघण्टु - आचार्य भावमिश्र ने ई.स. १५००-१६०० में एक ऐसे अपूर्व आयुर्वेदीय चिकित्सा ग्रन्थ का निर्माण किया जो प्राचीन संहिता ग्रन्थों की श्रृंखला में अन्तिम कड़ी कहा जा सकता है । इसमें द्रव्यगुण संबंधी विषय को परिवर्धित किया गया जिससे नवीनतम द्रव्य जैसे द्वीपान्तर वचा , पारसीक यवानी का समावेश सर्वप्रथम किया गया । इसलिये इसी निघण्टु को पाठ्यग्रन्थ के रूप में अनेको विश्वविद्यालयों में स्वीकृत किया गया । मूल ग्रन्थ संस्कृत में है इसलिये युगानुरूप इसकी टीकायें लिखी गई जिनमें प्रस्तुत टीका सर्वोत्तम मानी गई और अनेक बार पुनर्मुद्रित की गई । अब परिवर्धित तथा संशोधित नवीनतम संस्करण प्रस्तुत किया जा रहा है । इसमें द्रव्यों के ज्ञान की दृष्टि से सभी दृष्टिकोणों से विशद विमर्श किया गया है । अनुसन्धान करने वाले विद्वानों के लिए तथा छात्रों के लिये यह अत्यन्त ही उपयोगी है । इसमें संस्कृत के मूल श्लोकों का हिन्दी अनुवाद , द्रव्यों के विभिन्न भारतीय भाषाओं के नाम , अंग्रेजी तथा लेटिन नाम , वनस्पतियों के उत्पत्ति स्थान , संक्षेप में उनका परिचय , रासायनिक संगठन , गुण , प्रयोग एवं यथासंभव मात्रा आदि का उल्लेख किया गया है । संदिग्ध द्रव्यों के संबंध में विस्तृत विवेचन किया गया है , जो संदिग्ध द्रव्य निर्णय में सहायक होगा । Bhavaprakashanighantu - Acharya Bhavamishra.
