The Varshapal or Tajaka system of astrology is a branch of Jyotisha that is unique in the sense it helps unravel the future for a particular year. Indigenous in its origins, the present work by my revered father Dr. B. Raman is perhaps the earliest work on the subject. The special feature of this work is the Saham concept which helps in pinpointing year-wise a particular event. Based primarily on Neelakanta and to some extent, Keshava, the text is the result of several years of research by Dr. Raman in introducing Muntha and Yogas, quite different from Parasari Yogas.
