Swadhyaya and Yoga Therapy
Dr. Vaze · Kaivalyadhama
YOGA-THERAPY WITH A DIFFERENCE Yog has come to stay in the life of present day people in the form of therapy in a permanent way. Probably this is the need of the day. Its role in vedic period as a system for attaining liberation and freedom from pangs of life and death seems to have been left behind. People who are responsible for offering Yoga-Therapy should not however lose sight of its self-experiencing nature. They should stress upon the ailing people that success of the therapy lies with them and not with therapists as in other therapies. Beneficial effect of Yogic Practices depend upon self-appreciation of changes within the individual when he /she is practicing for attaining liberation. This is true even when the individual is trying these practices for regaining health and relief from disease. Implicit faith, perseverance in practices and renunciation are essential for getting back to health.
