Taken For A Metro Ride
Amrita Sharma · TreeShade Books
When Aliya revisits India after almost two decades in the US, she has no idea that the city and its vibrant metro rides will change her life forever. For Aliya, the Delhi Metro unravels itself as a story-teller, as lives of people unfold before her when she overhears the conversations of total strangers during her daily rides. A chance encounter with Karan – a fellow passenger – also forces Aliya to question her idea of love, longing and loyalty. But are all these experiences just entertainment for Aliya or something more than that? Will Aliya, through her “interactions” with the faceless and nameless sea of passengers, get her own life on track? Will her life continue to be derailed or will she find love along the way? Taken For a Metro Ride takes us on an extraordinary journey of quirky interactions and profound revelation, with the metro playing the supporting role in Aliya’s voyage of self-discovery.
