People often are confused between meanings of mentoring and coaching. Simply defined mentoring is about correcting the aspirational deficiencies and coaching is correcting the skill deficiencies. Coaching and Mentoring are related, but they have significant differences. While coaching is functional, Mentoring is more relational.
