The book is aimed to give fresh insight in understanding the socio-cultural changes and problems being confronted by an ethenic Himalayan tribe, besides, contributing to world of education. This tribe known as Jaunsari tribe, earlier found many outside scholars' intrest, and their studies predominantly covered the then prevalent polyandrous nature of the tribe. This book, based on the doctoral thesis, is an attempt, for the first time, by a native researcher to cover the area beyond polyandry (which as such is almost extinct now), and get to the deepest layer of the culture rather than touching the skin and failing to reach the heart. The book highlights the underlying features of Jaunsari world view. It covers genesis of the culture & civilisation, rituals, caste system, uniqueness of marriages and festivals, economy, Linguistic status, pollution and purity and socio-cultural changes being witnessed among Jaunsari tribe.
